Paint Correction - Restore your Vehicle's Shine

What is Paint Correction?

Paint correction is a term used in the car detailing industry that refers to the process of restoring a vehicle's paintwork to its original condition or improving its appearance by removing scratches, swirl marks, oxidation, and other imperfections that are caused by everyday wear and tear, environmental factors, or poor maintenance.

The paint correction process involves several steps, including a thorough wash and decontamination to remove any dirt, grime, or contaminants that may be present on the surface of the vehicle. The next step is to perform a detailed inspection of the paintwork to identify any areas that require correction.

Once the imperfections have been identified, the next step is to use various tools and techniques to remove them. This may involve the use of polishing compounds, machine buffers, and specialized pads, among other things. The goal is to gently remove a thin layer of clear coat or paint from the surface of the vehicle in order to eliminate the imperfections and reveal a smooth, glossy finish.

After the correction process is complete, the vehicle may receive additional treatments such as waxing, sealing, or coating to protect the newly restored finish and help it resist future damage.

Paint correction is a highly skilled and time-consuming process that should only be performed by a trained professional with the proper tools, knowledge, and expertise. When done correctly, it can restore a vehicle's appearance to like-new condition and improve its resale value.

If you believe your vehicle exhibits any surface defects or paint imperfections then it is recommended to contact us to receive a FREE price quote and inspection to determine the best course of action to enhance your vehicles' finish!

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at zachary.j.stansfield@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

There are several signs that may indicate that your vehicle requires paint correction. Here are a few things to look out for:

  1. Swirl Marks: If your vehicle's paint looks dull or has small scratches or swirl marks, it may be an indication that the surface needs correction.
  2. Oxidation: Oxidation occurs when the paint has lost its shine and appears faded or discolored. This can be caused by prolonged exposure to the sun or other environmental factors.
  3. Scratches: If your vehicle has deep scratches or scuffs in the paint, these will need to be corrected in order to restore the vehicle's appearance.
  4. Water Spots: Water spots can occur when water droplets evaporate on the surface of the vehicle, leaving behind minerals and other contaminants. These can be difficult to remove and may require paint correction.
  5. Bird Droppings or Tree Sap: Bird droppings, tree sap, and other environmental contaminants can damage the paint on your vehicle and may require correction.

If you notice any of these issues with your vehicles paint, then it recommended to consult with us so that we may assess the condition of the vehicles paint and recommend the best course of action to restore its appearance.

I will assess your vehicles paint and recommend exactly what your vehicle needs to improve the finish. Generally, if you own a newer vehicle or your vehicle has minor defectives and just want to improve gloss and clarity, then our paint enhancement package will be a good fit for your vehicle. If your vehicle has severe defects or you are looking for a showroom quality finish, then the multi-step correction will be needed to restore your vehicles finish.

All of our paint correction services include an application of a high quality paint sealant to the vehicles finish upon completion of correction and I do not require my clients to purchase a ceramic coating. However, it is my professional advice to opt-in for a coating if your vehicle undergoes one of our paint correction packages, as it is the best protection for the newly pristine finish of your vehicle. The ceramic coating will also enhance the gloss and shine of that freshly polished finish and allow for easier maintenance cleanings and advanced protection from future contamination.

YES! It is imperative to have a clean and contamination free surface prior to the correction process. All of our correction services include our Premium Wash + Protect Detail Package which includes a hand wash, chemical and mechanical decontamination, and application of high quality paint sealant to seal in the freshly polished finish.
